Nearly every expensive repair we see started as a maintenance item somebody skipped. A timing belt is a scheduled service; a broken timing belt can be a destroyed engine. A coolant flush is routine; an overheated head gasket is not.

What’s included in preventative maintenance?
It depends on mileage. Typically oil and filter, tire rotation, fluid checks or flushes, filters, belts and hoses, battery testing and a brake and suspension inspection — following your manufacturer’s schedule.

Do I have to go to the dealer to keep my warranty?
No. Federal law lets you have scheduled maintenance performed at an independent shop without voiding your factory warranty, as long as the work meets specification and is documented. We keep records of everything we do.

What if I don’t know my vehicle’s service history?
That’s common with used vehicles. We’ll do a full inspection, check fluid conditions, and build a catch-up plan prioritized by what matters most.

Can I spread the work out?
Yes. We’ll tell you what’s genuinely urgent and what can wait a few months, so you can budget for it.

How do I know if I need a timing belt?
There usually aren’t obvious warning signs before a timing belt breaks — and if it breaks, the engine generally goes with it. That’s why most drivers replace it proactively, which costs less than replacing a broken one. Tell us how long you’ve owned the vehicle and whether the belt has ever been replaced, and we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s time.
