A/C and Cooling System Repair in Longview & Tyler, TX
In an East Texas summer, air conditioning isn’t a luxury and an overheating engine isn’t a small problem. These are two separate systems that both live or die on the same thing: proper heat transfer. We service both, and we find leaks rather than just topping off refrigerant and sending you on your way.
For A/C, that means testing pressures, checking compressor and clutch operation, and locating leaks with dye or electronic detection before recharging. For the cooling system, it means pressure testing, inspecting the radiator, water pump, thermostat, hoses and fan operation, and verifying the correct coolant type and concentration.
- — A/C blows warm, or cools only while moving
- — Weak airflow from the vents
- — Musty smell when the A/C runs
- — Temperature gauge climbing above normal
- — Steam, sweet smell or coolant under the vehicle
- — Heater blows cold in winter
Low refrigerant means there’s a leak, and running a system low starves the compressor of the oil it carries. A recharge without a repair usually buys a few weeks and can cost you a compressor — one of the most expensive parts in the system.
On the cooling side, overheating is the fastest way to destroy an engine. A warped head or blown head gasket from one hot drive costs many times what a thermostat, hose or water pump would have. If your temperature gauge is climbing, pull over.
Our process
-
01
Test the system
A/C pressures on both sides, vent temperatures, compressor and clutch engagement; cooling system pressure test and thermostat operation.
-
02
Find the leak
UV dye or electronic detection for refrigerant; pressure testing and inspection for coolant. We locate the source instead of guessing.
-
03
Repair and evacuate
Failed components replaced, system evacuated to remove moisture, then recharged to the exact factory specification by weight.
-
04
Verify performance
We confirm vent temperatures, fan operation and normal engine temperature under load before the vehicle goes back to you.
A/C & Cooling System

My A/C just needs a recharge, right?
These systems are sealed. If refrigerant is low, it leaked out somewhere. We’ll find the leak and quote the repair — recharging without fixing it wastes your money and risks the compressor.
-
+
Why does my A/C only get cold when I’m driving?
That often points to a cooling fan or condenser airflow problem, or low refrigerant. At speed there’s enough airflow across the condenser to compensate; at idle there isn’t.

How do I know if I’m losing coolant?
Watch for a low reservoir, sweet-smelling steam, white residue around hose connections or spots under the vehicle. Never open a hot radiator cap — bring it in.
-
+
Does the coolant type matter?
Yes. Mixing incompatible coolants causes gelling and corrosion. We use the coolant your manufacturer specifies for your vehicle.

What happens during a cooling system flush?
We drain the antifreeze from the radiator, flush the cooling system to clear out scale and old fluid, then refill with fresh antifreeze to the correct type and concentration. The goal is to avoid a radiator replacement or a bigger repair later.
