ABOUT / SPRAGGINS AUTO REPAIR
A family shop that grew into two.
Tony and Melissa Spraggins started Spraggins Auto Repair in 2001 with $800 and a small rented building in Longview. The operating rule was simple then and hasn’t changed: tell people the truth about their car, charge fairly for the work, and stand behind it.
Tony brings nearly 39 years of auto repair experience to the bay. He and Melissa have ten children, three of whom work in the business today — so when we say family-owned, we mean the family is here. Melissa answers customer reviews personally; if you leave one, you’re hearing back from an owner, not an agency.
Part of why they started the shop was to build a place that felt professional and family-friendly — no inappropriate language or material — where anyone would be comfortable leaving their vehicle and waiting for it.
Our Tyler location was founded by Mike Crist in 1991, starting in a two-bay garage behind his home and expanding to a six-bay facility in 2005 when his wife Jill joined him. It’s now part of the Spraggins family — same standards, same people you already know, with the added backing of a 12-month / 12,000-mile nationwide warranty on repairs.
Between the two shops we handle everything from a routine oil change to a transmission rebuild, on most makes and models, foreign and domestic. You’ll get a diagnosis before an estimate, an estimate before a repair, and a straight answer about what can wait and what can’t.
“I love getting to know our customers and making sure their experience at Spraggins Auto Repair is very positive.”
